Blake Chatman
The First Recipient of the 410 Scholarship Program
At Inaugural Home Improvement, the 410 Scholarship Program was created to support ambitious young people who are determined to build their own future — especially those pursuing creative, entrepreneurial, and non-traditional career paths.
As the very first recipient of the scholarship, Blake Chatman represents exactly what the program stands for: creativity, drive, resilience, and the willingness to carve out his own lane.
Growing up, Blake was always drawn to cameras, content creation, and media. Inspired by the YouTubers he watched as a kid, he developed a passion for storytelling and technology at an early age.
That curiosity quickly evolved into action. Rather than simply consuming content, Blake began learning how to create it himself — developing the skills that would eventually become the foundation of his own media company.
“I always had a creator mindset since a young age,” Blake says.
Today, that mindset continues to fuel his ambition as he works toward building a successful business and a future on his own terms.
For Blake, the realization that he didn’t want to follow a traditional path came through a series of defining moments.
One of the biggest turning points happened during high school when he saw a young entrepreneur — someone who came from a similar background — achieving success and financial freedom at an early age. That experience opened his eyes to what was possible.
Combined with the influence of his older sister, who built her own successful business without following a traditional 9-to-5 career path, Blake began to envision a different future for himself.
Rather than settling for ordinary, he became determined to create an extraordinary life through entrepreneurship, creativity, and hard work.
“I know what side of the coin I want to be on,” he explains.
One of Blake’s proudest accomplishments is the growth of his media company — a business he largely taught himself how to build from the ground up.
Through dedication and persistence, he transformed his passion into profitable work while continuing to sharpen his skills every day.
His journey hasn’t always been easy. Blake admits that when he first entered his trade program, he was one of the lowest-performing students in the shop. But over time, he completely changed the narrative through determination and effort.
Today, he describes himself as one of the most motivated and skilled students in the program and the only student participating in a co-op opportunity through his internship with Inaugural Home Improvement.
That transformation reflects the work ethic and mindset that helped him become the first-ever recipient of the 410 Scholarship Program.
Blake’s goals are clear. He wants to continue growing his company, building financial freedom through his craft, and creating a name for himself through entrepreneurship and media.
And when he looks toward the future, he sees the results of years of hard work paying off.
“When I’m sitting in my supercar parked in front of my big house, I’ll look back and realize I achieved everything I’ve ever wanted.”
